Yes, "everybody" knows it a bad idea, but then why follow it, 'cause it was solving all the "right" problems, in the wrong way, and everybody was looking at the marketing babble and just wanted the "pains" relieved, instead of understanding their souls their are selling out ;( It sorta started with Upstart, and was unavoidable that something will come in, but then, as is always said in OpenSource: Code talks harder than words...

Wish I had the budget and team to write a "proper" replacements similar to Solaris 10/11's service management framework, but in user mode.
